Greetings – It recently came to my attention that there is or may be interest by some individuals in receiving an update regarding Forest Service restoration activities in the Staney Creek watershed. There has been considerable past interest in this high use and highly productive area, and the Forest Service remains committed and focused on achieving the best possible outcome for the watershed’s resources. The following message will briefly outline some of the past work and present/future efforts being undertaken by the Craig and Thorne Bay Ranger Districts Fisheries, Watershed, Wildlife, and Subsistence program (FWWS). See attached PDF for the full announcement.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional information about the ongoing analysis. Also, please pass on this message to others who may be interested in knowing about FS activities in the Staney Creek watershed.
Note: I will be leaving the Forest Service on January 12. Until a new FWWS supervisor is in place, please direct future communications to Sean Claffey, FWWS Hydrologist, 907-826-1612.
